Over the November break, club members went back to the SAS GK village in Dalaguete, Cebu to help with the village’s ongoing building work and to spend time with the families who live there.
What we did
Building houses. We joined the build crews on homes in the village, doing whatever was needed that day.
Making cement. A lot of the trip was spent mixing and hauling cement. It was hot, heavy, and weirdly satisfying work.
Connecting with the kids. The children of the village were with us almost the whole time, and it didn’t take long for them to become the best part of the trip.
Dancing on the last day. On our final day, we danced with the children. It was a send-off none of us will forget.

Looking back
Every Zombie Run ticket and every donation ends up here, and seeing the village in person made that real. The houses we worked on are homes for families we now know by name.
Leaving was the hardest part. After a few days of working, playing and finally dancing together, it felt less like visiting a project and more like saying goodbye to friends.
“Mixing cement in the heat was hard work, but it felt good knowing exactly who the houses were for. The kids made every day better. They’d follow us around the site and turn every break into a game.
Dancing with them on the last day is my favourite memory from the whole trip. It’s the reason I want to keep doing GK.”
November Trip 2026 runs from November 26th to 29th and is open to club members aged 15+. Want to come next time?
